ATHE Level 3 Award in Introduction to Computer Programming

IntroductionEntry CriteriaQualification Content

Introduction
This award (10-Credits) aims to provide learners with fundamentals of computer programming. Learners will develop their knowledge and understanding by investigating the range of languages available, example uses and the similarities across different languages.

This smaller qualification focuses on a smaller number of key subjects within the Information and Digital Technology environment and is ideal for learners taking those early steps within the subject, looking for a succinct menu of current computing topics. These topics will allow learners to develop practical and theoretical approaches to solving problems and finding solutions using Information and Digital Technologies.

The qualification is a stepping stone to the Level 3 Diploma and provides the basis for learners wishing to pursue further studies in related fields such as computer science, information systems and digital media. It helps learners gain competencies that are relevant and up to date with industry standards, preparing them to meet the needs of employers in the digital sector.

It offers learners current and integrated learning across computing mathematics, cyber security, digital technologies and emerging technologies.

This qualification sits within a suite of ATHE L3 qualifications, which is called the International Access Programme (IAP). Learners may choose to study one or more of the qualifications in this suite.
