Susan Thomas is building a successful career as a real estate developer in the UAE – but it wasn’t always this way. As a working mother, Susan wanted to enhance her portfolio with a professional qualification from University but finding a way to do this whilst working and maintaining family life was not going to be a simple task.

Thankfully, Susan discovered ATHE’s progression routes and after researching our qualifications discovered she was able to study flexibly and affordably with a distance-learning centre. She would go on to undertake, and pass, the ATHE Level 5 Extended Diploma in Management before progressing on to a top-up year at Anglia Ruskin University.

Susan tells us about her experience:

“As a mature student and a working mother, I wanted to earn a professional qualification from an internationally recognized institution without compromising on my other commitments. I contacted ATHE to be informed about different learning providers and UK Versity was one of them. They were very professional, prompt and provided me with good career guidance.

I really enjoyed studying because the course content was very relevant and practical. The ATHE qualification was very interesting and informative and has made me more confident. My experience of study was fun and supportive, and I would certainly recommend this course for anyone with a desire to continue to enhance their experience and understanding. Once I had completed my studies, the process to progress on to university was straightforward based on the course credits I had achieved from ATHE.

Since completing my studies with Anglia Ruskin last year, I am looking forward to a promotion or a career progression within the multinational firm in which I work. Eventually, I want to establish a start-up company of my own.”
