ATHE develops Qualification for Interface Enterprises

Interface-EnterprisesInterface Enterprises is a national provider of specialist support, evaluation, training, information and resources for those working to transform the lives of vulnerable families. As part of their work they provide training to a wide range of organisations, including local authorities, schools and charities. In 2015 they decided that, due to changes in government policy and the general direction of travel in the sector, a new qualification would be required to meet the needs of organisations and individuals working in this field.

‘We saw a need to create a programme to accurately meet current workforce needs. We discussed our thoughts with our regular customers and in collaboration with our local authorities and partners we believe that we have created a new innovative programme, which will equip workers with the understanding, ability and confidence to go out and work effectively with children, individuals and families with both emerging and complex needs.’ Wendy Weal, MD, Interface Enterprises

InterfaceAfter reviewing the various options, Interface Enterprises approached ATHE to see if they could support the development of a new qualification. ATHE and Interface then met to scope the requirements and to ensure that ATHE could meet the needs of Interface and their partners. Following this meeting, ATHE developed a proposal which included timescales for development and associated costs.

‘Bespoke development work is often necessary to maximise learner opportunity and meet the diverse needs of particular sectors. It is a great pleasure to work with organisations such as Interface Enterprises to develop valid and rewarding bespoke qualifications.’ Diana Muallem, Head of Qualifications, ATHE

Following Interface’s acceptance of the proposal, ATHE began development work on the Level 4 Certificate in Working with Children, Individuals and Families. This work included a review of the units within the qualification by an independent expert, to ensure that the proposed assessment methods were appropriate and that the qualification was at the correct level. Throughout the development ATHE worked closely with colleagues at Interface. The qualification is now operational and is being delivered in London and Leeds as Open Training and is also available as in-house training across England.

We have been very grateful and impressed with the support from ATHE.’ Wendy Weal, MD, Interface Enterprises
